I remember mine…. I opened the window in our hotel room in Siena and the sun came bursting in. I looked out over the red tile rooftops and knew instantly, this was where I needed to be. What was your moment?
After reading "Under the Tuscan Sun" in 2003. Then again a few years later when I started researching my family history and discovered the two Sicilian towns where my great grandparents emigrated from.
Then again when I discovered I qualify for dual citizenship. Then again in 2016 when we took a tour of Sicily with Rick Steves Tours. Then again in 2018 when we did a tour of Tuscany. And I'm sure it will happen again during our upcoming tour of southern Italy in May. :)
Would have to be Rome, the city ruins, the agedness and the interconnectivity that seems to make the city just a connected loop… my vacation there was pivotal for me…
